Only thing is because of the false eyelashes I put on has caused myself red eyes for 2 days… I can’t wear my contacts now and I can only wear my specs to work… therefore this is nothing pathetic and I should only blame myself for this instead… paiseh lar… what to do, I so long never make up myself gao gao for outing liao..

You should go for Sony Alpha for entry level. It's very user-friendly. Only problem is getting your lens and flash but if you got to the level of having to use different lens shot, you can sell off your Alpha for a more established DSLR brandnames. It all boil down to your signature shots and subjects. Canon has its own perks. So is my all time favourite Nikon. I'm more of tight shot portrait kinda person. Thus said, I'm still a Nikon fan. Easier for me to get and exchange lens with my other friends, you see? Hee.
Oops. Sorry to have not added this earlier. I did get a feel of the actual Sony Alpha 700 in Malaysia. It's very affordable, too (^_-)* I think you'll like it. I tested a few low light shooting and it's not too bad. But I can't say the same with the built-in flash light it holds. Then again, I'm not a fan of flash light. Go get a feel at your local store. Then you can hunt for a better price in Singapore. I've asked, Singapore has better bargain for it. If you're confident with the classic DSLR, you can also get a Nikon D70 for your entry level usage (^_^) You can buy very good D70 (used) from a lot of online forums. The community is definitely bigger in Malaysia and Singapore, compared to Sony DSLR. Have fun.
